The Zhambyl 500MW Renewable Energy Complex Project represents a large-scale wind energy infrastructure investment developed in the Zhambyl Region of Kazakhstan. The project was designed to increase the share of renewable energy within the national energy portfolio, reduce carbon emissions, and support sustainable energy production.

Implemented for the Ministry of Energy of Kazakhstan under an EPC (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction) and turnkey installation model, the project involved the development of a 500 MW installed capacity wind power plant across an area of approximately 1,500,000 square meters.

Within the scope of the project, micro-siting studies were conducted to determine optimal turbine placement, followed by deep foundation excavation and reinforced concrete infrastructure works for turbine foundations. The installation of mega wind turbines, including towers, nacelles, and rotor blades, was carried out with high precision using heavy-lift crane operations.

The energy infrastructure includes a medium-voltage (MV) underground cable network, as well as a high-voltage (HV) switchyard and transformer substation, delivered on a turnkey basis. Transmission lines were constructed to ensure the integration of generated electricity into the national power grid.

Additional facilities include the construction of a SCADA automation control center, administrative buildings, maintenance workshops, and logistics warehouses. Internal heavy transport and service roads were also stabilized and asphalted to support operational logistics within the site.

The project commenced in 2020 and was successfully completed in 2021, becoming a significant renewable energy investment contributing to Kazakhstan’s sustainable energy infrastructure.
