The N1 Highway Rehabilitation Project represents a major infrastructure modernization initiative carried out on the Dondo–Inhamitanga section of Mozambique’s primary national highway (N1). The project was designed to enhance transportation continuity between the northern and southern regions of the country while improving road safety and supporting commercial logistics.

Executed under an EPC (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction) contract for the National Roads Administration (ANE) under the Ministry of Public Works, Housing and Water Resources, the project involved the rehabilitation and structural strengthening of a 186-kilometer highway corridor.

The scope of the project included roadway reconstruction, pavement reinforcement, and the construction of viaducts and key engineering structures where required along the corridor.

Initiated in 2015, the project was successfully completed in 2017, significantly improving the efficiency and reliability of Mozambique’s national transportation network and strengthening regional trade connectivity.
